AA Inc. has installed and maintained this style prefilter/strainer basket for 30+ years and have personally witnessed its benefits as an integral part of your filter system. The basket is made of 304 stainless steel, 18 inches tall by 12 inches in diameter and has 1/8-inch mesh holes. 3-inch inlet and a 3-inch outlet on either side to accommodate your plumbing. It catches many different types of debris depending on the time of season all year long. Mechanically removing this bio load increases the efficiency of your bio filters nitrification conversion process. The volume of the basket has been optimally sizes for catching everything from seasonal fall leaf debris, spring tree pollen, algae and temporarily housing young small fish until they can be safely returned back to the pond. We have rarely found the same young fish in the tank more than twice and never 3 times. Under normal use the basket will last a lifetime. We have an example of this SS basket looking and functioning as good as it did when it was 1st put in use 25 years ago. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that if you’re mechanically removing organic debris before your pump emulsifies it and injects it into your bio filter that, your system is going to run much more efficiently. Get that organic debris out of your system before they get caught in intake, discharge slits or orifices in your filter. This stainless-steel strainer basket continuously removes debris from your pond and all it takes is emptying it once a week and your whole system will be 10 times more efficient.
